Excavated and replaced a collapsed clay sewer main running from a Bedford-Stuyvesant brownstone to the city connection beneath the sidewalk. Installed new PVC pipe with proper pitch, backfilled with gravel, and restored the sidewalk to DOT specifications. The chronic backup issues are now completely resolved.
Installed a commercial grease trap for a new restaurant in the East Village to meet NYC DEP requirements. Connected the three-compartment sink and dishwasher to the trap and ran the outlet to the building drain. The establishment passed its health department inspection and opened on schedule.
Designed and installed a French drain system in the backyard of a Flushing home that suffered from chronic standing water after rain. Trenched a perimeter drain with perforated pipe, wrapped it in filter fabric, and covered it with decorative gravel. The yard now drains completely within hours of a storm.
Performed a video camera inspection of the main drain in a Mott Haven apartment building that revealed heavy grease buildup and root intrusion. Cleared the line using high-pressure hydro-jetting equipment and confirmed full flow with a follow-up camera pass. Recommended annual maintenance to prevent future blockages.
Installed a backwater valve on the main sewer line of a New Dorp home that had experienced two sewer backups during heavy storms. Excavated the basement floor, cut into the existing cast-iron drain, and fitted a brass backwater valve with a cleanout access. The home is now protected from city sewer surcharges.
